Abstract. The time evolving electronic density and current of the active outer electron in 1-2 keV Li+-Na(3p) collisions have been calculated and graphed. The corresponding time-dependent electronic wavefunction is provided by the 28 coupled molecular state calculations of the preceding paper with a common translation factor. The mechanism of the alignment effect for charge exchange from initially aligned Na(3p0 degrees /90 degrees ) or Na(3p45 degrees /-45 degrees ) is clearly seen in the graphs of the current.
