Fermi Golden Rule Simulator
The programme has originally been written as a test
project for our visualizations of atomic collisions,
by
J.P. Hansen and
L. Kocbach in 1988.
The original program has been written in FORTRAN on a Sun 3/50
workstation, using Sun CGI Graphics. In its present forms it
exists as C-code in portable system RISGS, working on
MS-DOS, MacOS and (all) X-windows platforms.
The physical problem
We are solving the time-dependent Schroedinger equation

with the
hamiltonian
as used in the textbook derivations of the
Fermi Golden Rule. The model representation of the continuum is shown
on the figure below.
