Fermi Golden Rule Simulator

The programme has originally been written as a test project for our visualizations of atomic collisions, by J.P. Hansen and L. Kocbach in 1988.

The original program has been written in FORTRAN on a Sun 3/50 workstation, using Sun CGI Graphics. In its present forms it exists as C-code in portable system RISGS, working on MS-DOS, MacOS and (all) X-windows platforms.

A picturebook about the model


The physical problem

We are solving the time-dependent Schroedinger equation Schroedinger equation with the hamiltonian as used in the textbook derivations of the Fermi Golden Rule. The model representation of the continuum is shown on the figure below.
