Information Physics
|
The research activities in the Laboratory of Information Physics cover mainly:
- methods of computational physics: applications of computer
algebra providing support for numerical simulations and automation
of programming, numerical methods for conservation laws, development
of programs for high performance computing (HPC), plasma physics
studies based on computer algebra and HPC
- computational physics of high energy densities: atomic physics
of hot and dense matter, numerical simulation of laser-plasma
interactions (including femtosecond pulse interactions), complex
models of pulsed systems with extreme parameters, nuclear processes
in super-dense plasmas, atomic physics in capillary discharges
- computer-assisted instruction and information pedagogy: methodology of the use of integrated computing systems, computer and www-based courses for information physics and physical electronics, virtual department of physical sciences
The laboratory participates in joint project ``Laser plasma research centre'' (LN00A100), coordinated by the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences. The project is supported by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic.
The laboratory has active scientific contacts with several universities and research institutions internationally, and joint papers with colleagues from the U.S.A., Russia, France, Poland, Germany, Norway, Japan, and Australia have been published.
