ABSTRACT: Most problems of ballistics are modelised by PDE's os
simpler ODE's which in general do not have closed form solutions.
Therfore numerical integration must be used to solve them. However
applying the usual methods requires a tremendeous computing time.
Therfore a quasimonomial transformation by Brenig is applied. Most of
the ballistic ODE's can be written in canonical QM format which allows
to write easily Taylor expansions for numerical purposes. This is
applied to gasdynamics problems of terminal and interior ballistics.
Particular problems that are discussed are the generation of blast waves
by intense (nuclear) explosions and the internal ballistics of guns.
